Wine

To all the wines we've loved before...

So many wines, so little time! I've absolutely fallen in love with wood and wine club. I enjoy our differences, (even though, they are so hard to depict) our jokes, our laughter, and most importantly our choice of wines! Never before did I scower the many isles of the wine shops with such intensity. "I have to pick something unique and delicious to impress the girls"-I say to myself while hovering, and yet each and every time, I come home even more impressed with my friends than ever before. Here's a quick overview to get you up to speed...

Red Diamond: Merlot

"Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties."

Barefoot: Merlot
"This wine offers big berry flavors that rewards with every sip. It has dark fruit notes of currant, raspberry and blackberry, and a velvety vanilla finish that leaves a lush and lasting impression."

Smoking Loon
"Believe it or not, a wine does not have to be expensive to be enjoyable. There are plenty of good wines that are below $10. In this economy, expensive wines are looked at as a luxury and it is. Smoking Loon is my pick for best quality under $10. Do not let the wine label design or the name fool you. All their wines are full of flavor, rich aromas, and pairs well with all foods or even enjoy a glass of each wine by itself."

Pennywise
Pennywise is a collection of varietal wines carefully sourced from vineyards throughout California. Through extensive negotiations with our winegrowers we find the best grapes for the best value.  This focus on price and quality translates to good value for the savvy shopper.

Robert Mondavi: Woodbridge
"Mondavi's Woodbridge Moscato brightens the glass with delicate floral nuances and sweet citrus flavors. This is a light-bodied wine with a lean style and mild manners, offering honey, lemon and tangerine on the palate in a fairly sweet profile.
A perfect wine for serving with various fruit-based pie, a fruit torte, peaches and cream, or simply a fruit salad."

 Little Black Dress: Merlot
Deep ruby black color. Aromas of chocolate, baked berries, and singed cedar follow through on a round, brisk entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with mocha, thyme and cherry coulis notes. Finishes with a soft, chewy tannin fade. A nice burger wine.
